OpenWorld takes on over $1.1 billion in tokenized projects with AI agents, Cardano writes compliance rules into tokens

Nasdaq-listed company OpenWorld (OPNW) signed two non-binding term sheets in the past two weeks: on October 7, it signed a maximum of $130 million in intellectual property mortgage financing with BeyondAI, and on October 15, it signed a maximum of $1 billion in tokenized financing with Meridian, which will be used to build a distributed AI computing network powered by photovoltaic and residential energy storage. The two total over $1.1 billion.

At the same time, OpenWorld announced the acquisition of AI agent company Blocksight. Its AI agent can automatically complete transaction structure design, asset data verification, investor access, daily reports, and duration services, with key decisions still approved by humans.

In terms of compliance technology, the Cardano Foundation launched the programmable token standard CIP-0113 on the main network on October 7, which allows the issuers of regulated assets such as stable coins and tokenized funds to directly embed KYC/AML checks, sanction screening, and transfer restrictions into tokens directly, which are automatically executed by the ledger for each transfer. The standard has been recognized by the Swiss Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA).

Ray's perspective: OpenWorld and Cardano have responded to the same bottleneck of RWA scalability from the operational and protocol layers, respectively: human compliance costs. OpenWorld uses AI agents to replace repetitive operational work in tokenized projects, while Cardano migrates compliance rules from off-chain human review to token-native logic, with the former reducing the marginal cost of single-project operations and the latter reducing the verification friction of asset transfer between institutions. For brand assets and operating rights RWA, non-standard asset compliance review has always been a major part of issuance costs. The combination of AI agents and programmable compliance standards may be the key variable to push non-standard RWA from "customized cases" to "replicable processes".
